Scotland Bill

2: Before Clause 10, insert the following new Clause— ““Referendum about Scottish independence: further provision (1) Any referendum held in pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Scotland Act 1998 shall not take place until nine months after every Secretary of State has laid before both Houses of Parliament a paper prepared by their department setting out the implications of an independent Scotland— (a) to that department and its executive agencies, (b) for that department's policies, and (c) for that department's planned expenditure. (2) Any referendum held in pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Scotland Act 1998 shall be administered by the Electoral Commission with a single question relating to the future position of Scotland in the United Kingdom.””
