Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be fully appointed. Motion agreed to on division (361 to 121). Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be composed of 20 per cent elected Members and 80 per cent appointed Members. Motion negatived. Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be composed of 40 per cent elected Members and 60 per cent appointed Members. Motion negatived. Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be composed of 50 per cent elected Members and 50 per cent appointed Members. Motion disagreed to on division (46 to 409). Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be composed of 60 per cent elected Members and 40 per cent appointed Members. Motion disagreed to on division (45 to 392). (The Tellers for the Not-Contents reported 392 votes; the Clerks recorded 393 names). Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be composed of 80 per cent elected Members and 20 per cent appointed Members. Motion disagreed to on division (114 to 336). Lords motion that this House is of the opinion that a reformed House of Lords should be fully elected. Motion disagreed to on division (122 to 326). Lords motion by Lord Trefgarne that this House is of the opinion that there should be no change to the current composition of the House of Lords not moved.
