Fine Particles and Health, June 1996
An earlier POST report looked at the effect of urban air pollution on health, especially asthma, and pointed to emerging evidence that fine particles in the air could be a significant contributor to respiratory disease and death. Since then, there have been many further studies which have reinforced such concerns, and suggest that fine particles from diesels and other sources may contribute to significant mortality around the world.
