Prisons: Staff

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether he has undertaken a risk assessment of the unplanned closures of sections of prisons as a result of insufficient availability of staff.

Governors and senior operational staff in prisons proactively manage the risk of unplanned closures and the effects on safety, staffing levels and delivery of effective regimes. The regime management plan was developed specifically to provide a tool to assist in this.
