Revenue and Customs: Blockchain

Question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the feasibility of the use of Blockchain by HMRC after the UK leaves the EU.

Answer

HMRC has run a successful proof of concept that has demonstrated the potential benefits to the department of using Blockchain technology. HMRC continues to work internally and with other government departments to research whether and how those benefits might be realised.
