Government Departments: Security

Question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether his Department is taking steps to detect bugs planted by hostile states on the Government estate.

Answer

As has been the case under successive administrations, it is Government policy not to comment on security procedures on the Government estate. However, the Cabinet Office plays a supporting role through the Government Security Group, which sets the security standards to which Departments are expected to adhere.
