Nuclear Submarines: Decommissioning

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 8 June 2026 to Question 4943 Nuclear Submarines: Decommissioning, whether pyroprocessing is being used to recycle used fuel from decommissioned nuclear submarines.

Answer

No. The Ministry of Defence does not recycle spent nuclear fuel from decommissioned submarines.
