Tickets: Touting

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what estimate she has made of the cost to consumers of ticket touts operating in the UK.

Answer: The Government recognises that UK consumers have been exploited by ticket touts for too long, which is why we have announced new measures to put fans back at the heart of live events and eliminate the scourge of industrial scale ticket touting. We will publish a draft bill for pre-legislative scrutiny, allowing us to draw on expertise from across Parliament and industry, in order to ensure that the legislation is effective, enforceable, and future-proof. Our published analysis suggests that these measures could save consumers around £112 million annually.
