The Ministry of Defence(MOD) has established UK Defence Innovation (UKDI), which launched in July 2025.
UKDI’s mission is to accelerate the delivery of cutting-edge innovative capabilities so that the United Kingdom is both secure at home and strong abroad.
With ringfenced annual funding of at least £400 million, UKDI brings together the innovation efforts from across the MOD, with the clear goal to quickly deliver new technology to the front line and support the growth of a strong defence technology industry.
