- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 7 September 2026, to question 22833 on Command and Control, what was the full scope of Project Guardian UKV2.
- Answer
-
Project GUARDIAN UK Version 2 was intended to deliver an enhanced Air Command and Control capability for the Royal Air Force, building on the capability delivered under GUARDIAN Version 1. The programme sought to modernise the UK Air Surveillance and Control System by integrating radar, radio and tactical data link(s) to provide a real-time recognised air picture in support of the protection of UK and NATO airspace. It formed part of the wider Air Surveillance and Control System that supports UK air defence and NATO air policing activities.
