Mental Health Services: Schools
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what assessment her Department has made of the a) adequacy of the availability of art therapies in schools and b) potential merits of increasing art therapy provision in schools.

The government is committed to improving mental health support for all children and young people. It is for schools to decide what support to offer to best meet the needs of their pupils.
To support schools in reaching these decisions, the department provides a range of guidance and practical resources on promoting and supporting pupils’ mental health and wellbeing. This includes our targeted support guide and hub, which provides information on a range of targeted mental wellbeing support, including art therapy, and is available at: https://mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk/targeted-support/.
