To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the answer of 21 May 2026 to Question 1225 on Permanent Secretary: Recruitment, what the Permanent Secretary vacancy only advertised internally across government was; what the business case for not advertising the role externally was; and which Minister approved the exception.

The Permanent Secretary vacancy advertised internally was the Joint Intelligence Committee Chair role. The Prime Minister approved advertising the role internally due to its highly specialist nature.
