To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what steps his Department is taking to ensure broad public participation in the consultation on the draft EN-8 National Policy Statement.

The consultation is open for anyone interested to respond to. The consultation has been shared directly with all respondents to the previous consultation on developing a National Policy Statement for fusion energy, as well as with industry and relevant public bodies. In addition, the UK Atomic Energy Authority has encouraged engagement across a wide range of interested groups. The consultation is open on gov.uk until 17 August and automatic updates have been sent to those who have subscribed to receive them.
