Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Clive Efford (Labour), on Wednesday, 29 October 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 240 members in total.
HOUSING ASSOCIATIONS AND ENERGY CONSERVATION
That this House welcomes the progress made by many local authorities in taking action under the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995; notes that a number of authorities have stated that it would help them if housing associations were also involved in promoting energy conservation in their own properties; further notes, that many housing associations themselves are keen to be involved in the energy conservation process; and therefore welcomes the Energy Conservation (Housing) Bill which would extend the 1995 Act to housing associations.
