Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jane Griffiths (Labour), on Thursday, 29 June 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 69 members in total.
WATER CHARGING
That this House notes that current arrangements for water metering provide no short or medium term arrangements to ensure fair water charging and that arrangements for metering significantly disadvantage poorer households; and recommends that the Government put in place fair and progressive machinery for charging for water, including measures that allow water companies to link tariffs for water to council tax bands.
