Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Baroness Hoey (Labour), on Wednesday, 8 September 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 32 members in total.
UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER SWIMMING POOL
That this House condemns the University of Ulster's decision to close the swimming pool at the Jordanstown campus; notes that there was no consultation with the students, the local community and the users of the pool; regrets that many schools, including a school for children with disabilities, have been forced to seek use of alternative scarce swimming facilities; further notes that the University has been in receipt of ??11 million from the Sports Council to develop a sports institute for Northern Ireland; and calls on the Vice Chancellor to reverse this decision immediately.
