- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of prospects for the road haulage industry.
- Answer
-
Sir Nicholas Winterton: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of prospects for the road haulage industry. [218921] Mr. Jamieson: The Government have undertaken no formal assessment of prospects for the road haulage industry. But continued demand for drivers and waiting lists for new trucks suggests that the industry is buoyant and with the continued strong performance of the UK economy the prospects for the road haulage industry should be very good.
