Oral question asked in the House of Lords, by Lord Forsyth of Drumlean (Conservative). It was answered on Monday, 19 December 2005.
US Prisons in the EU
- Question
- My Lords, can the Minister confirm how many flights have actually landed in British airports? Can he explain the confusion there seems to be about the numbers which have been given by the Government and those which are being recorded by planespotters and others?
- Answer
-
My Lords, to the best of my information, approximately 400 flights have landed in the United Kingdom. I am afraid that I can give no information whatever on the basis of collection of data by planespotters. Without being frivolous about planespotting—there may be many adherents in your Lordships’ House for all I know—it is an activity with which I am wholly unfamiliar.
