Excise Duties: Beer

Question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what assessment he has made of the effect of his Department's excise policy on the consumption of beer in public houses and bars; and if he will make a statement;
Answer

Decisions on the taxation of beer are made by the Chancellor at Budget taking all relevant factors into consideration, including the state of the industry and its contribution to the economy.
