- If Minister will make it policy to accept full responsibility for any damage, injury or death attributable to errors in the design of the VIPER microprocessor where it is used in safety-critical computer systems controlled by MOD; what steps MOD has taken in response to questions as to its design & safety raised in reports published by researchers employed at University of Cambridge; what assessment has ben made of consequences of premature announcements as to reliability of VIPER & its premature market launch; what steps MOD is taking to discourage use of VIPER in civil safety-critical computer systems.
