To give figures for 1960, 1970, 1979, 1984 & 1988 for a married man with 2 children earning average male annual earnings, showing length of time, after taking into account income tax, liability & national insurance contribution, necessary to pay for each of following items one lb. sugar, one lb. back bacon, one lb. beef sirloin, one lb. fresh cod fillets, 14 lbs potatoes, 800g sliced loaf, one lb butter, pint of fresh milk, one dozen eggs & one lb pork. - Includes table.
