- To submit for independent analysis actual tape which failed to record conversation between himself & selected journalists on 4 Nov; on how many occasions over past 12 months tape recorders drawn from Treasury pool have proved so defective that conversations at non-attributable Ministerial briefings have been totally erased; & what action is proposed to improve efficiency of these machines - Incl ref to answer given to Mr Sedgemore on 11 Nov.
