Answer: Mr. Richards: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the general Government's expenditure per head in (a) Scotland and (b) the United Kingdom in the last year for which figures are available. [19552] Mr. Waldegrave: [holding answer 10 March 1997]: In 1994-95, identifiable expenditure per head was £4,505 in Scotland and £3,760 on average for the United Kingdom, as given in table 7.6B of Public Expenditure Statistical Analyses 1996-97 (Cm 3201).
