To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, under what circumstances he will confirm the names of UK citizens as being held in (a) Cuba and (b) Afghanistan for alleged associations with the Taliban and Al-Qaida.

Mr. Dismore: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs under what circumstances he will confirm the names of UK citizens as being held in (a) Cuba and (b) Afghanistan for alleged associations with the Taliban and al-Qaeda. [37711] Mr. Bradshaw: The names of UK nationals detained in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay are confirmed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office only when we are satisfied that the information is correct and the next of kin have been informed.
