To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if the present minimum landing size for plaice in all sea areas will continue during 2002.
Answer

Mrs. Ann Winterton: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if the present minimum landing size for plaice in all sea areas will continue during 2002. [23272] Mr. Morley: Yes. The EU minimum landing size of 27 cm which had been extended by derogation (from the original 22 cm) from 1 January 2000 was made permanent in May 2001.
