Matthew Taylor: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the average length of service is for (a) a grade 5 civil servant and (b) a grade 7 civil servant in his Department; and if he will make a statement. [187091] Ruth Kelly: In HM Treasury, the average length of Government service for a grade 5 civil servant is 16 years, and for a grade 7 civil servant is 10 years.
