Proceeding contribution from Lord Garnier (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 19 May 2005. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Industry and the Environment.
Industry and the Environment
May I finish my sentence first? I know that my hon. Friend the Member for Macclesfield (Sir Nicholas Winterton) listens to everything that we all say. We were given an hour or an hour and a half to deal with great chunks of amendments and new clauses, and I do not know that that is a sensible way in which to go about our business. I do not want to lose the Secretary of State’s friendship. I desperately want to talk about East Midlands airport and know that she shares many of my concerns about it.
