Proceeding contribution from David Winnick (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 27 October 2005. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Terrorism and Community Relations.
Terrorism and Community Relations
: Is the hon. Member for Beaconsfield (Mr. Grieve) aware that in about 1958, a year before the election, the retiring MP for Finchley said to his friends at the House of Commons, ““Do you know what's happening in my constituency? They've shortlisted two people; one's a Jew and one's a woman.”” The woman, of course, was Mrs. Thatcher.
