Proceeding contribution from Lord Roberts of Conwy (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 24 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Transport (Wales) Bill.

Transport (Wales) Bill

moved Amendment No. 13:"Page 4, line 26, leave out ““who are”” and insert ““including the””" The noble Lord said: The amendment would ensure that all members of the public who might have difficulty using public transport are given consideration. We hope that the amendment will stop anybody being unintentionally excluded, such as those who are not covered by the Disability Discrimination Act. For example, people who do not have a long-term impairment or those with only minor impairments currently have no guarantee that their requirements will be regarded by the Assembly. Clearly, we wish everyone to be included. I beg to move.
