Proceeding contribution from Lord Roberts of Llandudno (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 18 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL].

Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL]

I thank the Minister for his reassurance regarding training. I believe we have reached the stage when we need to remind care homes, nursing homes and residential homes of the need for their staff to meet these levels of ability. I do not know whether it is possible for the Welsh Assembly to circulate care homes in Wales with a reminder that there are standards which require a certain level of ability and expertise. But I thank the Minister for his reassurance and I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 18 and 19 not moved.]
