Terrorism Bill

There is nothing new in this. The King David Hotel in Jerusalem was blown up by a gentleman who was later welcomed in Downing Street. In the village of Dier Yasin in Palestine, 230-odd women and children were slaughtered by terrorists, including a gentleman who was later welcomed in 10 Downing Street. The Government are trying to muddle something that is difficult to define. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. There is a whole list of people whose actions hundreds of British governments have approved. There were the guerrillas in Spain during the peninsular war and the Afghan guerrillas under the Russian occupation. We are in danger of getting ourselves into the most appalling muddle and it will not be the first time.
