Proceeding contribution from Lord Bassam of Brighton (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 30 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Identity Cards Bill 2005-06.
Identity Cards Bill
moved Amendment No. 69:"Page 19, line 1, leave out ““of a person with”” and insert ““to a person of””" The noble Lord said: My Lords, these are minor drafting amendments to Clause 20, which have been tabled in response to comments made by the noble Lord, Lord Phillips of Sudbury, to whom we are most grateful. I hope that these amendments satisfy him entirely. Of course, it is never entirely possible to satisfy the noble Lord, but we do our best. I can assure noble Lords that these amendments do not change the meaning or operation of the clause in any way. I beg to move.
