Proceeding contribution from Lord Bach (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 27 February 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill.
Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill
It is an unfortunate situation, but the fact remains that the Countryside Agency has made a fair point. It is much better to get it right rather than to bang ahead with an amendment that if carried turned out not to be workable. While IĀ apologise to the Committee, we have done the right thing.
