Proceeding contribution from Baroness Byford (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 28 February 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill.
Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill
I will not go through and try to complement what has already been said by the noble Baroness, Lady Miller of Chilthorne Domer. It is quite right that we tried to include in the Water Act the Water Framework Directive, because it seemed to us that it was an opportunity that should not be wasted. The Minister may say that is not relevant or appropriate here, but there is a wider issue that needs addressing. I support the noble Baroness’s comments.
