Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 1 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].

Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

I had hoped for a little more warmth from the Minister today. I feel a little disappointed that he is only going to think about it between now and Report. I put the Minister on notice that we see this as a very serious issue. We have had many representations to that effect from those who are concerned with reporting either under the OFR or under the business review and who want to be able to report in as open a way as possible. I hope that between now and Report—whenever Report takes place—there will be substantial consideration and a preparedness to consider changing the Bill. As I said in my opening remarks, we would be happy to take part in any discussions. For today, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. 307B not moved.] Clause 390 agreed to. Clauses 391 and 392 agreed to. Clause 393 [Duty to prepare operating and financial review]: On Question, Whether Clause 393 shall stand part of the Bill?
