Proceeding contribution from Earl of Listowel (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 9 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Work and Families Bill.
Work and Families Bill
It would be regrettable if any bad odour were attached to the Bill in terms of the outlook for business. Goodwill between employers and employees is essential if we are to be successful in achieving a good balance between work and family. So, in the interests of children, I hope that both sides in this matter will strive to reach some sort of concord and return to their good working relationship.
