Proceeding contribution from Peter Ainsworth (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Friday, 10 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill.
Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill
I apologise to the House, because I shall have to leave shortly to attend a memorial service. I thank the Minister for the constructive way in which he has approached the Bill and the new clause. I congratulate the hon. Member for Edinburgh, North and Leith (Mark Lazarowicz) on introducing the Bill, of which I am a sponsor. I also congratulate my hon. Friend the Member for Bexhill and Battle (Gregory Barker), who has worked tirelessly on it and on his new clauses, to make it a really good measure that will make a big difference in helping local authorities to address the problems of climate change and fuel poverty. I wish the Bill every success.
