Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill

That goes beyond our discussions today. The point of my remarks is to say that although the hon. Gentleman wants to remove nitrous oxide from the definition, it would, with respect, be foolish to do so given its dangerous nature. Given its immense global warming potential, it makes no sense to remove it from the reports, because that would not give a full picture of the UK’s progress in reducing emissions of the most important greenhouse gases. I commend amendments Nos. 35 and 50 but, for the reasons given, I oppose amendment No. 29.
