Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 30 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].
Company Law Reform Bill [HL]
It is something of a revelation that an audit firm will be contracted to carry out the oversight of the Auditors General. I am more mystified at the end of the debate on the amendment than I was at the beginning. When I have read the record in Hansard, I will consider the matter very carefully to ensure that I have not missed something very obvious. If I am no further forward, I will bring it back on Report. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 826 agreed to. Clause 827 agreed to. Clause 828 [Reports by the Independent Supervisor]:
