Proceeding contribution from Lord Beamish (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 22 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Armed Forces Bill.

Armed Forces Bill

I want to help my hon. Friend in regard to clause 2, which deals with misconduct. He says that subsection (1)(b) is relevant to his argument, but subsection (7) states:"““A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable to any punishment mentioned in the Table in section 163, and any sentence of imprisonment imposed in respect of the offence may be for life.””" The first punishment listed in the table in clause 163 is ““imprisonment””.
