Proceeding contribution from Lord Beamish (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 22 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Armed Forces Bill.
Armed Forces Bill
I am grateful to my hon. Friend. The measure allows the commanding officer, in certain cases, to submit evidence and information in mitigation. There is not a problem, and we did not take any evidence from service chiefs or commanding officers, both here and abroad, to suggest that it was. Former service chiefs could not provide any examples.
