Proceeding contribution from Lord Thomas of Gresford (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 27 June 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Government of Wales Bill.
Government of Wales Bill
My Lords, the noble LordĀ is not defending the AMS system, is he? Is he aware that its biggest critics are the members of the Labour Party who have been elected to the Assembly? They seem to hanker after the red meat of first-past-the-post. Is the noble LordĀ defending AMS? Is he saying that we should continue to have that system in Wales for the foreseeable future and beyond?
