Road Safety Bill [Lords]
I am grateful to my hon. Friend for mentioning new clause 17, which we did not reach tonight. The Minister mentioned the fulfilment of manifesto commitments, but I wonder whether he remembers that the previous Secretary of State said:"““If people are using a false address or fiddling the system and the police cannot get to them, we need to sort that out, and we will do so.””—[Official Report, 8 March 2006; Vol. 443, c. 834.]" We are still waiting to find out how that pledge will be fulfilled.
