Proceeding contribution from Baroness Turner of Camden (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 17 October 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Education and Inspections Bill.
Education and Inspections Bill
My Lords, does that also include a right at appeal? Is the emphasis on the agreement of the parent? We have found that sometimes a child wants to appeal, but the parent does not. It seems to us, and to Save the Children in particular, that that is not good enough. Sometimes a parent is not prepared to back the child when perhaps the child should have that support.
