Proceeding contribution from Lord Elton (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 17 October 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Education and Inspections Bill.

Education and Inspections Bill

My Lords, will the Minister, in his own time, consider whether it is possible to get a mentor into this process if the parent is agreeable? If a parent were not willing or able to appear and a child had an appointed mentor, it would seem sensible that the mentor should be able to appear in place of the parent.
