Animal Welfare Bill
With the leave of the House, Mr. Deputy Speaker, I shall respond to that point. One example would be the case of a journalist who was present at an animal fight. It would not be possible to say that that journalist had ““lawful authority”” to be present, but he could have a ““reasonable excuse””. The amendment allows us to make sure that there is consistency throughout the Bill, by ensuring that the word ““reasonable”” is included in clause 7, as it is in other parts of the Bill. Lords amendment agreed to. Lords amendment No. 11 agreed to.
