Antisocial Behaviour

I fully support the Government’s antisocial behaviour policies and the use of ASBOs, whose effectiveness has been demonstrated in Manchester. However, I am disappointed in the Government’s approach to the licensing of mini-motorbikes. There have been 26,000 calls about them to Greater Manchester police in the past year. It is true that the police have powers to deal with them individually, but is that a sensible use of police resources when most of the problem could be dealt with by a licensing regime?
