Proceeding contribution from Adam Ingram (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 21 June 2007. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Armed Forces Personnel.
Armed Forces Personnel
Our armed forces have never been so well equipped in terms of personal equipment. Anyone who visits any theatre of operation remarks on that. The hon. Gentleman has given a litany of issues that, he said, needs to be addressed. The likelihood is that they are all being addressed. The problem is that there is usually a lead time between examination of what is wrong and delivery of a correction. We must get it right; the worst thing is to get something that does not function. Note will be taken of the issues he has mentioned. If a corrective measure is not in place, there might be a good reason for it; if not, we will attend to it.
