Proceeding contribution from Gordon Brown (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 8 October 2007. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Iraq.
Iraq
There is no truth in that statement attributed to me in the papers at the weekend. As far as Syria is concerned, we continue to press it to play a far more positive role, to end support for terrorists in Lebanon, and to play a constructive role in the middle east peace process. Those matters are common ground for both sides of the House.
