Proceeding contribution from Lord Addington (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 5 February 2008. It occurred during Committee proceeding and Debate on bill on Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill.
Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill
I thank the Minister for that clarification—I had forgotten to ask the question initially. I hear what he says. It is probably a question of going away and having a think to see whether there is any mileage or new points to be brought out of this. The question is where we draw the line and how much encouragement should be given to regular but casual and normal contact. That is probably the underlying message, to try to get people involved. As that requires ongoing thought, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. 83 not moved.] Clause 16 [Changes to the calculation of maintenance]:
